Cute toys

These sock toys are just so cute! Found his blog from a book in the library with title “Sock sewing in Danta’s classroom”. Yes, is a he and he loves to sew those cute little sock toys. I especially love the one feature on his book cover – Little Star. After watching the video that comes together with the book, it made me feel like I should really make it for my boys. It seems so easy too. With simple materials and within half an hour, a cute sock toy is born!

I wish I could copy the video disc or at least save it in my computer so that I can refer to it anytime I want when I’ve got the urge to make “Little Star”. But I’m afraid I don’t have the right software to play the video over in my notebook. Another thing is the desktop in my office doesn’t really have a huge memory for files, let alone it is way too slow these days. It seems like always booting something at the background. Maybe it is time I request it to be upgraded or maybe add a new sdram.

I hope I still can remember those steps in making the sock toys days or weeks later as this memory of mine also getting old *sigh*.

Over the weekend

Yes, I’ve been to Sutera Club House on Saturday, letting the boys played in the Kiddies Club doing some paint work while I went to enjoy a chat session with hubby, updating him on the house progress, then went for a little shopping spree all by myself!

After that was going to check on the house again on our way home and then spent the rest of the evening in my in-laws’ house after dinner.

Then came Sunday where the boys already been waiting to go to church to do some coloring fun in the Sunday School. I ended up staying with them and I’m telling myself I’ll bear with it and have been praying that they’ll eventually stay there by themselves while I can be over at the Sunday service listening to the sermon.

After that was breakfast which I managed to stop them from having cold drink such as Coke. Then it was over to my sister’s place upon request (from the boys). While they were there playing with their cousins, me and sis managed to went for some groceries and fruits shopping over at City Mall and I managed to get some photos printed for my scrapbook (hurray to that as it has been a long time that I didn’t got any photos printed).

The boys, well, actually all of us were anticipating on the arrival of our family members from Hong Kong – my sis and her two boys. My boys definitely been asking when will they be here and where will they be sleeping. When my sis finally arrived, it was followed by a lot of chasing, shouting and simply lots of noise in the house filled by the children, without worrying about where they are going to sleep.

It is good to finally see my sis and her boys who have grown so much, and we would probably see them again tonight. I hope the boys can have an early night tonight though.

My boys must have been exhausted over the weekend that they slept till 7 like logs and it was a bit pity that I have to wake them up for school. I wish we could all sleep in today and have another day off at home or just doing some other thing rather than school and work.

As for today, initially I need to fetch my niece whom later changed her mind. I’ve been wondering if the “Simple” 3 steps travel kit that I’ve bought her is working. She is having some small pimples on her face recently, I hope she doesn’t need any acne treatments and I hope that her skin will “grow” after those simple 3 steps thingy. Will see…

At the club today

P1050703
On Friday afternoon, while I was at work, I got a call from Calvin,
Calvin: Mommy.. can we go to Kiddies Club (Sutera) tomorrow?
Me: I don’t know, I need to settle something for the house first.
Calvin: You leave us there la.. then you go to settle things about the house and then you come back to get us lor..
Me: Well, we’ll see tomorrow. But no promise, ok?
Calvin: Okay…

On Saturday morning,
Calvin: Mommy, can we go now? (to Sutera)
Me: Okay, but I need to finish some house work first.
Calvin: Like what?
Me: Like putting out the clothes to dry.
The next thing I knew was he took out one bucket of clothes and put them all on the cloth wire and have put the cloth pegs on them all.

Well, what more can I say. They finished off painted two little clay work today over at the Kiddies Club and both were happy when I got there. As for myself, I suddenly felt overwhelm with the idea that I can be free to do whatever I like for at least 3 hours! So how did I spend my 3 hours? First is to chat with hubby over at the Chat Room using their wi-fi, then is to off to Mother Care to use up Calvin’s birthday voucher to get him some new t-shirts and pants. He needed that ‘cos he has out-grown his clothes. Then is to have a romp in Parkson hoping to get a blouse or something. Taking my time for window shopping *grin*.

Going to do that again when time allow.

Right when…

Right when I turn my head away, there goes trouble!

Right when I thought I can leave them together, they started to fight.

I wanted to train them to sleep without me. I want to train them to be nice to each other, to be able to share without fighting, without teasing each other too much. I want to train them so I can have more time to do other things, so that they are injury free. Am I succeeding? Nope, I don’t think so. They still fight, they still tease each other, they still get on each others’ nerve, but they still look out for each other and still want to be together. That is the confusing part, which probably is true of what the saying goes “blood is thicker than water”. Brothers are still brothers no matter if they have been fighting with each others.

There are times that I ran out of ideas, patient and mood in dealing with them. So I went off to take some deep breath and still there are times that I took out the stick and threaten them.

I find that my wrinkles are getting more and more now a days. Maybe I’m starting to notice those eye area more, I’m not sure. But my eye bags do really get more visible now-a-day. Getting the best wrinkle creams could probably be my next assignment.

Maybe I haven’t been taking care of myself more now-a-day. I haven’t bought a new blouse for ages. When was my last shopping spree? Was it May? It wasn’t even a shopping spree. It was only one blouse and nothing else. Ya.. I think I should go to get some new clothes, new make-up, new shoes, new everything *grin*. (if only budget allows it)

A special day

Both my boys went for their dental appointment today, Mervin at 11:30am and Calvin at 1:30pm. Mervin was excited and can’t wait to get on the chair, he was even complaining why the doctor is so late, what took him so long.. *LOL*

He got excited and curious about what the lady on the counter doing too. Then he was so brave to just walked in the room all by himself and not even requesting me to accompany him. So I did, I left him all alone with the doctor and his helper. The dentist just came out to inform me that he has two area that need filling. So he’ll need to get back there again.

P1050656As for Calvin, he has his first tooth extracted today. Yes, ‘cos his new tooth is growing out! My boys is growing so fast! As for him, he wanted me to be there with him. After the tooth being extracted the dentist asked if he wanted to keep the tooth, I was the one who answer “Yes!!” I wanted to keep that, I wanted to keep it maybe on a scrapbook page if possible *grin*.

Oh ya, when I got home to fetch him, he was in his jolly mood and even asked me “Do I look like going to the beach?” *LOL* ‘Cos he has got his “Hawaii” shirt, short pants and a hat on.

I managed to snap a photo of him before he got off the car to the babysitter. He still got the cotton in his month.

The situation now and a birthday

Nope, my site is still not totally okay yet, as I’m still with my previous server. Anytime now I may be switched over to the new server by my hostess. Finger crossed that I’ve done enough and with the right backup to get my site up and running again with all my posts.

On the other hand, nope, my  house is still not done yet. It is still under renovation. The workers are doing the plaster ceiling and tiles at the moment. Tiles for bathrooms are almost done. Next is the kitchen wall tiles and the last will be the floor tiles. I hope there won’t be any shortage again as we bought almost all of our tiles during sales / promotion period and the promotion is over by now. So any shortage will be charged with non-promotional price which could be 100% more than the price that we got. *sigh*

I don’t know exactly when I’ll be moving in. This is one question that me and hubby cannot answer. Another thing is if I will be able to stay there with my two boys and nobody else. Probably getting a maid is a must thing to do. However I prefer to do things myself, I don’t like to have a stranger in the house with me. Well, fortunately as for moving wise, I don’t need to worry too much as I’m really staying very close to my new house. I don’t need any long distance moving company to help me I suppose. I think dad’s pickup would do the work.

As for health wise, I’m not really in my tip top condition these few days. Have been having some cough and flu. Now I’m getting stiff neck some more! With the haze and H1N1around, I’m afraid I’m just like anyone else who can’t really enjoy their time right now. I wish it could be better. But I do feel good today for having to send over an “Orange Delight” cake from Secret Recipe over to Calvin’s school and let those kids enjoy the happiness from a birthday cake. Yes, it is Calvin’s birthday today. His 6th birthday.

Hubby email today: “6 years ago after passing mid-night, I received an sms from you saying we have a healthy baby boy. Now, he is a 6 year-old big boy. That’s our son Calvin.

Very soon, he will enter primary school and start to load with books in his school bag. Well, we have to make sure he has a wonderful and joyful 6 years in his primary school without much study pressure given to him.

Instead we should give more courage and guide to him so that he pick up study as a fun and joy process. Nurture an environment that he will take initiative to do his homework and study instead of us chasing behind him. Praise more instead of punish.”

Well, dear.. yes I hope I can praise him more rather than punishing him. But the thing is “wait till you are back and be with them, then you’ll know how hard that could be.” *LOL*

In dilemma

Yes, I’m in a dilemma now. My site seems still not stable or rather I’m not so sure what is happening to it now. I’m not sure it is under which host now. In this uncertainty, I’m not sure what I should do. . . I hope everything will gone back to normal pretty soon and I can stop worrying about loosing all my posts.

Changing tyres

Yes! I managed to change a flat tyre this  morning in the church compound. *LOL*

I had to do it myself ‘cos hubby has just gone off to China in the early flight this morning.

It wasn’t that hard actually, except on the part to take off one almost deadly lock nut! I was jumping on the “nut looser” (not sure what to call that), and my boys were laughing at me and said mommy was like a monkey *LOL*. After maybe about 5 or 10 minutes doing that same action without success, finally a pair of good Samaritans came into rescue, they were Mr. and Mrs. Lee. Mr. Lee finally got off the nut for me. And well, I did all the work by myself after that. And that was after finding out how to take off the spare tyre from the rear of the booth where it was lock underneath the bumper. I had to get my user manual out to solve that *LOL*.

Thank God that it happened in the church not somewhere in the middle of the road. Thank God that it happened on the wheel that didn’t get the sun, else I would have sweat more! Thank God for good brothers and sisters.

Well.. I am still proud of myself for being able to do that, and next time will be more prepare to do such job except if it happens at night *grin*.

Away from home

Just been back from Beringgis, yes, another course in the same old place, stayed in the same kind of room, but this time sharing with a different colleague. we are suppose to stay till tomorrow but we had an early escape *grin*.

It was a tiring two days for me. Having wasted the first day waiting for the facilitator and staying up at night to listen to new things required by ISO and started making changes in our files. We were well fed but not with my kind of favourite food. Fortunately I’m not a food picker, so I was fine with it.

Having to go through all our files, altering and making new sentences is easy just as long as the management approve it later. I was so tired in the afternoon that I fell asleep right there on my desk with my immediate supervisor just beside me! Thank God she is an understanding boss.

Coming back here to the office now and waiting for hubby to pick me up for whatever program that he has arranged. All I know is we might be going in for a movie later – Ice Age 3! Yippie! Hope I won’t be too tired and fall asleep in the cinema.

Fortunately I don’t need to drive, else I might get myself into trouble in this condition. If I were in the US and if I got myself into trouble, or maybe my car has broken down, I might think to myself I should have gone over to www.goodsamers.com in checking out the emergency road service and got myself cover for that. Well, here at least I’ve got MAA *grin*.

Gotta go, hubby has arrived.

My choice of fancy

Owning a pair of Clarks shoesis a luxury to me, but finding the right design or one that I love is a bit hard to me. I know they are being built for comfort and durability. However when I really come down to look for one that I would really treasure, I still can’t put myself down in buying them. In comparison on the price and style, I would still go for Hush Puppies, maybe if I were working in the US, I would go for Clarks right away considering that I would have a higher pay and more variety to choose from.

stoneJust look at those shoes over at Footwearetc.com. I would love to have a pair shown on the left, it just looks so comfy for a walk everywhere. However this pair is not suitable for formal work wear. I normally would go for classic pump or Mary Jane style which I can just match up with any of my work wear.

One funny thing happened about shoes. Well, actually it happened twice. I forgot to bring my pump and I had to wear my lousy slippers to work *LOL. which look totally uncool.
